Thriving Trout Population

Brown Trout
Brown trout are the most common species representing over 80% of the trout community. Fish lengths include 12"-16" in high numbers and an occasional fish caught over 20".

Rainbow Trout
Adding to the angling diversity of the trout community, the Arkansas River Rainbow trout average 14" but grow with a large number reaching lengths over 16″ and 20."

Gunnison River Rainbow Trout
The Arkansas River Fisheries started stocking a new strain known as the Gunnison River Rainbow trout (GRR) in 2017.
